We compare a creator's current average views against snapshots from 3, 6, 9, and 12 months ago to show whether their content performance is trending up, down, or flat. Long-form and short-form content (e.g. YouTube videos and Shorts) are tracked separately because growth patterns often differ between formats.
Share of Instagram, YouTube and TikTok profiles where we can calculate at least one growth period.
Growth requires historical data. Creators who are new to a platform, post very infrequently, or were recently added to our index may not have enough historical snapshots to compute a meaningful growth percentage. Coverage increases the longer a creator is tracked.
Periodic snapshots of a creator's average views are stored. Growth is the percentage change between the current average and each historical snapshot, calculated separately for long-form and short-form content.
Long and short form content are tracked in separate timelines. A creator might show +40% growth on short-form videos while their long-form videos stay flat. Both lines are available independently.
Each growth percentage tells you something different depending on the period and the direction. Here is how to interpret the numbers at a glance.
Strong recent growth. Views are climbing fast in the short term. High momentum right now.
Declining mid-term. Views were higher 6 months ago than today. Possible audience loss or content shift.
Stable long-term. Modest year-over-year growth. Consistent but not accelerating.
A creator with +40% at 3 months but -5% at 12 months recently recovered from a dip. A creator with +5% at 3 months and +50% at 12 months had a big earlier surge that has since plateaued. Looking at all four periods together reveals the shape of the trajectory, not just a single snapshot.
Consistent upward trajectory across all periods. Travel content gaining traction as the audience grows steadily.
Mixed signals. A dip around 6 months ago suggests a rough patch (fewer uploads or a content shift), but the 12-month number shows overall positive direction.
NikolaTravels shows growth that accelerates over time, with each period higher than the last. This is the profile of a creator building momentum. BorisLifeLog has a positive 12-month number but a negative 6-month figure, meaning there was a mid-year dip. Brands looking for reliable reach would favor the steady trajectory. Brands willing to take a bet on recovery might still consider the mixed one, but with full awareness of the inconsistency.
Views Growth is computed deterministically from view counts, so validation focuses on two things: the accuracy of the underlying view counts, and the completeness of our historical data at each snapshot period.
